About the DV Program
The annual Green Card Lottery (or the Diversity Visa Program) has, as a main goal, to keep the United States of America diverse.
The American Dream was not always opened to immigrants around the world. The first Green Card Lottery was held in 1994. The application process, however, had some difficulties. Later in 1996, it was possible to apply to the Green Card Lottery and since then, many applicants have received a Green Card. The DV-Program exists because the United States of America wants to keep their cultural diversity. Since the beginning of the 90’s, the US Government has given thousands of Green Cards through the DV Program. Winners of the lottery are selected through very specific criterias. At first, the name DV-21 might seem confusing because you apply for the DV-21 in the year of 2019. The year 2021 in the DV-21 programs stands for the American Fiscal Year that begins on October 1, 2020 and ends on September 2021. Green Card winners also receive their Green Cards during this period of time.
Why does the DV Program Exists?
The main objective behind the lottery is to give to a wide variety of people a chance to accomplish their dreams by living in the US with an immigrant visa. Those who win have the chance to get a Green Card. The DV Program was brought to life with the purpose of giving to people with low immigration rates the chance to start from scratch in America. The USA is a country made up of people from different countries and the wish is to keep America diverse through immigration. Immigrants from around the world have played a significant role in shaping American culture with their own traditions and customs.
How does the Green Card Lottery work?
The entire process is done online. When you are selected, you will be required to go through an interview in the American Embassy of your respective country.
Applying for the Green Card Lottery through the US authorities takes place once a year, usually during the months of October/November. Since 2003 it is only possible online. The Green Card Program has a list of not eligible countries, so as long as you are eligible, why not register?
With our support, you are not going to lose any deadline and we will make sure that your application will meet the requirements set by the U.S. authorities. We will make sure that you will have the best chances to win in the process! People born in countries with already high US immigration rates, such as Mexico, China and Brazil, are not allowed to participate in the lottery. On the other hand, it can change after a few years. Participation requirements for the Green Card Lottery are constantly changing and that is why is it worth it to keep yourself informed of the current situation.
Please note that we are not a government agency. We provide value added services throughout the US Diversity Visa program. Terms mentioned herein are limited to people who registered through safegreencard.com. You can apply for the diversity visa for free on the US government website.
